Why Wedding Photographers Need Blogging and Pinterest

If you are a wedding or elopement photographer you are in the right place! Because as a Pinterest manager, I am here to help your photography business thrive through platforms that your ideal client is using!

You know that an essential part of your business is marketing, but there is a difference between showing up and showing up and actually being visible to your ideal client. Your Pinterest marketing strategy and SEO strategy need to be on point, so your ideal clients find you and fall in love with your work.
So, I am going to tell you why wedding photographers need blogging and Pinterest in their life so dream enquiries and bookings continuously flow into your life, with ease.

4 Reasons Why Your Photography Business Needs Blogging and Pinterest

  • Increased Visibilty
  • Two Platforms That Work Together
  • Discover What Your ICA Loves
  • Blogging and Pinterest is Evergreen

Increased Visibility

It goes without saying that the more platforms that you show up on, the more likely you are going to be discovered. As a wedding or elopement photographer, a large majority of users are planning their weddings – creating their vision boards and looking for vendors.

As well, Google is the number 1 search engine so you know that your ideal client is on there to search for ideas, answers, tips, advice and services.

The better your strategy and the more authentically you show up, the more likely you will be found by your ideal client, and the more chance you have of them inquiring and booking you.

Blogging and Pinterest are the best platforms for you to show up on in your industry so don’t miss out!

Two Platforms That Work Together

Pinterest is an excellent tool for increasing backlinks to your website, which drives more traffic. It is more effective than any other social media platform at driving traffic back to a website—it is important that your Pinterest strategy is on point and well-optimised!

If you create and share content that your audience enjoys, they are more likely to click on your links. My best tip here is to be authentically yourself so you connect with soulmate clients. Good Pinterest content begins with high-quality visuals, which then leads to them wanting to read more information, so link your blog post to the pin. This is also why Blogging and Pinterest work so well together.

Think about how many visitors you can bring to your website by pinning images of your work—they will fall in love with your photography style and be inspired, and that is your goal.

Discover What Your ICA Loves

One of the most beautiful things you can do with Pinterest is see what is going to be trending (or is currently trending). Although you want to be authentic and show off your own style and aesthetic, there is nothing wrong with keeping up with the latest trends, as this is what people love. And no, you don’t have to change your editing style!! It’s more about sometimes showcasing your film photos you might be doing as an add-on, or maybe you’ve been trying out motion blur. It can also be as simple as preparing for fall content in summer, so it’s up there when people are looking for the inspo!

Pinterest allows you to see and understand what’s popular today. You can use that knowledge to position your work and base your blog topics on it, too. Blogging and Pinterest work so well together again, allowing you to get inspiration for your blog posts.

Blogging and Pinterest is Evergreen

Evergreen content on Pinterest means you can pin once and get repeat engagement for years to come (one of my favourite benefits of using Pinterest for business!). However, you still have to build up the momentum and strategy and be consistent.

They remain on Pinterest until you decide to delete them. Of course, as I mentioned, you can’t just go to Pinterest and drop a single pin and expect it to get thousands of clicks for the next five years.

Pinterest recognizes creators who are active on the platform regularly. The more fresh content you can create and pin to Pinterest regularly, the more likely the algorithm will show your pins to others.

The same goes with blogging, you can create evergreen blog posts, and if those blog posts are well-optimized and you are regularly uploading posts, that blog post could still be ranking on page 1 of Google in a few years’ time!

Don’t underestimate the power of these platforms once you have a good strategy in place and you are consistent. And, imagine the power of Blogging and Pinterest together?!
